The Spa at The Peaks Resort debuts new look & feel

July 31, 2009 (Telluride, CO) – The Spa at The Peaks Resort is excited to announce the recently completed $3 million revitalization and renovation. Colorado’s largest spa, the renovation provides a more holistic guest experience through a blend of function, design and service.

Over the past few years, with completion in winter, the spa finished an interior refurbishment that refreshed the spa’s ambiance and created tranquil, Zen-like spaces that flow seamlessly from reception, to lounge, to treatment room.

“Through the renovations and a refocus on the spa’s core philosophy – a balance of mind, body and spirit – we provide an exclusive sanctuary where resort guests and members can integrate wellness into every aspect of their lives” said spa director, Kristi Dickson. “We are excited to usher in a new modern sophistication for Telluride with this revitalization, and encourage you to share in our vision as one of the most influential and inspiring mountain spa experiences”.

Highlights of the renovation include the following enhancements:

• The renovated spa offers 32 treatment rooms, the most in any Colorado spa, each with new hardwood floors and delicate wall fixtures that provide soft lighting to enhance the sense of tranquility.
• A reconfigured reception area to create a greater sense of welcome. A new leathercovered reception desk greets spa-goers with elegance. Accents such as travertine stone floors a woven bamboo privacy screen complete the look.
• Within the spa waiting lounges, a light color palette initiates the relaxation process, while oversized lounge sofas invite spa guests to recline and unwind pre- or posttreatment.
• In keeping with the refocused sense of calm, the spa’s signature waterslide was enclosed to minimize noise, and the lap pool became a dedicated “mellow zone” replacing the existing cardio deck with groupings of plush lounge chairs and tables.
• Additionally, the lap pool, indoor / outdoor pool and Jacuzzis were re-surfaced and industry-leading pool equipment is now provided. Also, the addition of the Aqua Balance real time pool monitoring system will ensure consistently high quality pool and spa water.
• Located in a newly dedicated space, cardio equipment was enhanced with a state-ofthe- art theater package – all machines offer personal televisions and headphones.
• The racquetball and squash courts were converted into new yoga and Pilates studios.

In addition to these facility improvements, throughout the summer, the spa will offer many service enhancements to include The Peaks’ Summer Soirees – a fun-filled summer line up of events including concerts, fashion shows and mini spa days. The pool amenities have been enhanced to include complimentary cool alpine scented face towels, Evian face and body mists and healthy bites throughout the day such as fruit skewers, mini smoothies and frozen grapes. Members, resort guests and those receiving spa treatments are welcome to enjoy the Summer Soirees.
